Our vision

Our Vision at FGR is to Inspire Confidence and Fostering Inclusivity: Our vision is to inspire confidence and foster a culture of inclusivity within the running community. We believe that everyone, regardless of their body size, should have access to race shirts that fit them perfectly. Our mission is to empower individuals to embrace their bodies, celebrate their achievements, and find joy in running, while advocating for equal treatment and acceptance for all runners. By challenging societal norms and promoting inclusivity, we aim to create an environment where every individual feels valued, supported, and able to participate in running without limitations or prejudice.

Let’s talk.

Our story

Shawn DeVries, a passionate advocate for body positivity and inclusivity in the running community, has embarked on a remarkable personal journey.

Despite facing the challenges of being 370+ lbs, Shawn defied expectations by participating in half marathons and marathons, demonstrating remarkable resilience and determination.

Driven by a desire to create a more inclusive space in the running community, Shawn founded FGR (Fat Guys/Girls Run) as a startup venture.

With a deep understanding of the struggles faced by individuals of all sizes, Shawn aims to challenge stereotypes and inspire others to embrace their bodies while pursuing their running goals.

By sharing their own experiences and achievements, Shawn empowers others to defy limitations and achieve their full potential. Through FGR, Shawn seeks to create a supportive community where individuals of all sizes can come together, celebrate their achievements, and support each other in their fitness journeys.

Shawn’s journey serves as a powerful reminder that running is not limited to a specific body type or size. By breaking barriers and challenging societal norms, Shawn encourages others to embrace their uniqueness and prioritize their well-being.

Join Shawn DeVries and the FGR movement as they continue to redefine what it means to be a runner, promoting inclusivity and self-acceptance. Together, let’s create a community where everyone feels welcomed and empowered to achieve their running goals, regardless of their size or weight.
